Think back to the day you or a loved one heard the words, “You have breast cancer.”  Remember how lost and hopeless you felt, not knowing where to turn or how to begin fighting the battle. Susan G. Komen for the Cure wants to be the source of encouragement. 

 The Lubbock Area Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure is proud to announce The Survivor’s Circle.  The Survivor’s Circle is devoted to raising funds dedicated to those women and men who have been recently diagnosed with breast cancer. 

 When Susan G. Komen for the Cure is notified of a newly diagnosed patient, a bag containing imperative local resources will be sent.  This bag will include our Local Breast Health Directory, a resource guide of services available in the area with information like where to get a mammogram or purchase a wig, an important list of Questions to Ask the Doctor, and other helpful information. It will also include Stories of Hope to provide inspiration, laughter and hope at a critical time.

The Survivor’s Circle is a program funded by survivors, for survivors.  This is an opportunity for survivors to make a donation that will provide a new, fellow survivor with vital information in their greatest time of need.  Survivor’s Circle donors will be listed on The Survivor’s Circle wall in the Komen office and will serve as a constant reminder of those who have helped newly diagnosed patients across the South Plains.
