Volunteer
The Lubbock Area Affiliate is always in need of volunteers. Volunteers are the main reason we are able to create, host and attend amazing events. Volunteers not only help us with events, but they volunteer in the office, at health fairs and at Race for the Cure. Our volunteers are imperative to the success of our Affiliate. For that, we thank you in advance your enthusiasm and support of Komen Lubbock!
General Information
All volunteers, except those interested in the Race for the Cure, must complete a 2 hour Komen volunteer training. After you have completed the training course, you are ready to begin volunteering!
If you are interested in volunteering for Komen Lubbock regularly, please contact Clarissa Sanchez at 806-698-1900 or Clarissa@komenlubbock.org to learn more about volunteering for the Lubbock Affiliate, complete the Volunteer Application and return to the address on the form. Or, click here to complete your application online.
If you are interested in volunteering at the 2012 Race for the Cure, please follow the steps below:
- Determine your area of interest
- Determine if you will be volunteering alone or with a group
- Determine your availability
- Visit the "Volunteer Today" page and click on the job for which you would like to volunteer
- Wait for your confirmation email from us!

Komen Volunteer Spotlight
The Lubbock Affiliate would like to Spotlight Linda Thompson as an outstanding Komen volunteer!
Linda is a Pink Warrior who lives in Lamb County and she is the Race Volunteer Coordinator! She also serves on the Laugh for the Cure committee and with Special events! Linda understands the impact of Komen and inspires others as she herself is a breast cancer survivor. Linda has volunteered for Komen Lubbock for 6 years and first began volunteering with table set up at different venues and selling Komen merchandise. She says she bought as much as she sold each time! Linda is dedicated to spreading the word of early detection. We celebrate with Linda in her survivor journey as she has been a true blessing to Komen with all that she gives.
