Donations
You
can join us in the Search for the Cure and become part of the fight
against breast cancer by making a contribution of $25, $50, $100 or
whatever amount you choose to support our work at Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
A Memorial Donation provides the opportunity to make a donation in memory of a loved one or friend. A In Honor of Donation provides
the opportunity to make a donation to celebrate a loved one's
survivorship or special occasion - a birthday, anniversary, a wedding,
or recognize the courage of a friend or relative who is fighting breast
cancer or that special co-survivor who has helped you through your
battle. When a gift is received, the Foundation will send a
personalized tribute card to the person or family indicated notifying
them of your thoughtful gift, but not revealing the amount of the
donation. Every gift is tax-deductible and the donor receives an
acknowledgment for their contribution.

Up
to 75 percent of the net income of the Lubbock Area Affiliate remains
in the community to fund breast cancer education, screening and
treatment programs in our 16 county area. The Komen Lubbock Affiliate
shares a minimum of 25 percent of our net income to support The
National Komen Foundation Award and Research Grant Program.
Become
a Komen for the Cure Volunteer
What
would we do without our volunteers? There is a very simple
answer to that question: We could not exist! Your support as
a Komen for the Cure Lubbock volunteer is essential if we are to continue
our work to fulfill the promise of our mission to eradicate
breast cancer as a life threatening disease by advancing research,
education, screening and treatment.
If
you have a couple of hours a year, a couple of hours a month,
or a couple of hours a week, we have a place for you. As
an Affiliate volunteer, you can assist in our office or in
the outreach program throughout the community. Our Race volunteers
concentrate their efforts on planning and staging our yearly
Komen Lubbock Race for the Cure® which is held in September or October.

Opportunities
Our
goal is to underwrite event expenses through both cash and in-kind
contributions. Opportunities exist at various levels
from $500 to $15,000, with increasing benefits for your organization.
In-kind
donations of products or services are most welcome. Monetary
donations not only cover the expense of holding the Race, but
also are used to award grants to Lubbock area organizations
to fund breast cancer educational programs, screening and treatment.
